OMG... I love this place so much! I hadn't been in years and I have been to many a hibachi restaurant. They give you enough food for 3 meals and it is SO delicious. The chef and the servers were very nice and funny. The atmosphere and star ceiling is so cool. The one con I had this trip was we had a 45 minute wait so we went to the bar area and ordered two glasses of wine. After 15 minutes, we still didn't have our wine so my husband went back to the bartender and he had completely forgot. He gave us the two glasses of wine for free though, so winning. ;)

The food was very delicious -- everything is fresh and the chefs were very entertaining! Sharing is recommended even for those with hearty appetites! My significant other and I shared the shrimp, chicken and steak hibachi and still came home with a doggie bag. It would get 5 stars if we didn't feel rushed.

Came early at 4:30 when they opened and got right in. Food was fast and good. Chef was entertaining and funny. They give each person enough rice for three people!!! Free rainbow sherbet for dessert, pretty good. All in all good experience. When we left line was out the door with people waiting, they do take reservations.

Food was delicious, proportions were more than enough. Friendly staff and our cook was great. Definitely a great place to take the family

The food was pretty good by hibbachi standards. We were each given miso soup, a salad, grilled zucchini, onions, fried rice and a couple of shrimp as appetizers. I had steak, scallops and lobster that were tasty. Our chef's show was good but not great. The service was excellent and we had sherbet for dessert. Dinner prices range from $12 to $27 per person. I would recommend.

MMMMMmMmmM hibachiiiii meeeeeee! first trip to myrtle and excellent nom nom. our chef was hilarious, the staff was awesome, they were going around playing a drum with the stunning crowd (the other rowdy customers) were bustin loose. Especially the chick next to me breakin it down twerkin it- in the middle of the restaurant. great ambience, hilarious staff, like forreal a good time. hibachi nom nom. sushi nom nom as well!

Best Hibachi place in town! Everything is fresh and staff is great!

True, the prices looked hefty at first, but the portion size provided matched it. Food was delicious, and I observed none of the rudeness mentioned in other reports. In particular our chef was great, though the one at the next table seemed more quiet and meek.

Best hibachi place we've been to. It's a little high priced but it is easily two meals worth. They give you enough rice for two meals and it's the best hibachi rice we've had. This is one if my favorite places in Myrtle Beach!

Always an awesome experience - the kids love it, the food is fantastic. Make sure to make reservations ahead of time! Great chef - good waiter. Clean, cool - all around great experience! Enjoy your night at Miyabis - you won't forget or regret it!!!

The steak was prepared very well. Honestly think it was over priced. I have had a lot better Japanese food for half the price. But, with a benefit of a doubt, it could have been the cook. All in all, good tasted decent and the restaurant was very nice!

Excellent Japanese! Good rice (tons of rice) with cooked onion, mush, and green pep. Great service and chef. Chef wad funny with all the flippin food tricks. The steak and shrimp happy hour special was awesome, lots of flavor! Excellent miso soup and sushi (spicy tuna, spicy california roll). Nice sherbert ending to a great meal.

This time around I was super imoressed! I had been to this location about 5th as ago and did not have a good time, not great food etc... this time it was perfect! I swear this is some of the best food I have ever had, and that sauce they give you is like crack. So good, we are going back for a second time in the same vavation. Excellent food, wait and cooking staff were awesome. Will definitely make it into the permanent vacation rotation!

Great place for large parties, food was good and great atmophere

It's was ok. Not priced what it's worth. My food was burnt. I had steak and shrimp. My rice was crispy and steak and shrimp were rubbery. I ordered my steak rare. Also my drink tasted like medicine. Not sure what the glasses were cleaned in. I had two different drinks that both weren't good.

Went there on Saturday, May 24th, and the hostess girls were horrible. Acted as if they didn't want to be there; wouldn't look you in the eye. Very disappointing service from them. Almost walked out, but I wanted to try the sushi. Sushi for the most part was good - with the Kamikaze roll standing out - and the service from the waiter/waitress was up to standard. Yet, first impressions make a world of difference and the host girls should be reprimanded for their garbage behavior.

Miyabi Japanese Steak & Seafood House, OMG, the food was great, service was fantastic and the amount of food was over the top. Price was on point. The decor was nice and as we waited the friendly bar tender was keeping us entertained. We were staying at the Hilton and this place was on the shuttle route (bonus). The kids (girls 12, 14, & 15) loved it. The four adults with the kids who eat like adults in total came to be about $200.00 with tip. Including our drihnksssss (remember shuttle route)! I/we will be going back each time we visit Myrtle Beach. Remember to always drink responsibly Crazy Cubano Out

Just had an OUTSTANDING meal at Miyago with my family. Some of the best Hibachi we've had, anywhere. Great service, value, and entertainment. Will definitely come back for a 3rd+ time! So many choices in Myrtle Beach but Miyago stands out.

I love Miyabi - we visit Myrtle Beach every year & this is always a staple. I will agree that the receptionists could give two craps that people are there, but the food makes up for it. They do serve a TON of rice - i mean, over a lb per person lol, which we always end up taking it home and making a meal out of the next day. The food is always full of flavor, I get the filet mignon & it's always on point. Just melts in your mouth! Prices are average for a hibachi place.

One of my favorite spots to eat while on vacation! We usually take advantage of the early bird special to save a little money and beat the crowds since we go with a big group (sometimes up to 30 people) I almost always get the hibachi steak and chicken - and never make a dent in the huge portions - always have leftovers! The shrimp sauce is very good (which I love) and the service is almost always spot on! Miyabi has become a must have while we camp at the nearby travel park and it's a great place to gather for great food!
(5)Kevin K.
Not impressed. The front desk staff is very rude and seemed to have an attitude. The hibachi chef was not entertaining and our kids were bored. I ordered the special which was scallops and filet and thought it would be great. The apps served were miso which was soooo salty and a ginger salad which was the best part of the meal. They then fired up the grill and loaded about 2 lbs of rice per person loading it with soy and oils to give it flavor. They added in some fried vega as expected but it was like 20x1 rice. The steak was ok and the scallops were nasty had a fish taste and undercooked so they were mush. At the end of the meal we all felt gross like we ate 10x too much. I felt like I went to a Chinese restaurant and ordered 3 quarts of fried rice. Had I done this I would have felt just awful and full has just as good of a time and spent less then the 120 I spent here for a family of 3. Obviously never again. Go here if you love rice!!!!

Usually go to MI but decided to go to this one I have always noticed that there sushi bar isn't that busy now I know why TOSHI is a asshole I ordered a j roll and there was no shrimp tempura in it when I said something he got an attitude. On the other side if us were some Japanese people after there meal he offers then sherbet in his words "do you want some sherbet it's on me" did we get offered that nope. Definitely won't be back there to eat.

Food portions were overwhelmingly huge so this was at least 2 meals worth. Yum yum sauce was good. Chef was funny! Only negative was that they cook with oil which a lot of places do not. Other than that it was great!
(4)Redonna B.
A friend recommended this place to us and we were not disappointed. I'm really not sure why this place only has 3 stars! Yes, it's pricey, but it's Hibachi grill...not cheap. The cook was fantastic and kept my kids' attention. The rice was delish and so were our entrees. I will say it is a TON of food, so be prepared to eat it again the next day. My husband and kids got the hibachi shrimp and I got the chicken teriyaki all was devoured. The 2 adult, 1 kids and 2 drinks came to $80 with tip. Definitely a once a year kinda venture for us, but worth it.

A great spot if you are at one of the local hotels or resorts down the road. Our chef was funny, but also skilled. They have a full bar, including Japanese beers.
(3)Claudia R.
Very friendly staff and great food. Unlike other Hibachis, I did not find it overly greasy and saturated in butter and oil. Overall, very satisfied.
(4)Ellen L.
We visit Miyabi at least 4 times a year. Our kids love it. Portions are huge and we always take the leftovers home and have at least one lunch from them. Service is awesome and cooks are very friendly. See you again in December!

There was a long wait for seats on the day we went.Expecting that food would be awesome. unfortunately this place is over rated. the habachi chef wasn't performing at par,not much showmanship.food quality for their house special was disappointingly very salty.Ingredients used for the fried rice was all soy sauce and sesame seeds which is not the japanese fried rice should be. everything was either too sweet or salty. price is about $25.00 per head plus tip and tax.
(3)Edward B.
Excellent food with generous portions. The cooking presentation with fire and tricks had to be cut short due to two scared screaming toddlers at our table. Not the restaurant's fault. We'll definitely come back again.
(5)Midloyo V.
Good food and generous portion. Our chef was very entertainining. Alot funnier than other ones I've seen. I would just go with the chicken dinner next time vs chicken and shrimp. The chicken was delicious as was the 2 appetizer shrimp. However, the shrimp that came with dinner didnt have as much flavor but there was like 20 of them on the plate for the people who just want to eat quantity and flavor isnt as important. Would go again.

Miyabi's early bird specials were too good to pass up, so we tried it out this past Friday night. (chicken and shrimp $8.95) Let's start with the soup. It was actually a little better than the soup we get from other similar restaurants. I liked the cooked onion in it. The salad was pretty standard, with a decent assortment of dressings. Shrimp appetizer was good, and the vegetables were good. Nothing great, just average. Then we were served our rice. The portions were huge. Probably the largest portion of rice that I've had at a Japanese restaurant. But the taste was not that good. I found myself covering it with the shrimp sauce (white sauce). I asked my wife about it, and she thought the same as I did. It wasn't that good. I had shrimp and chicken, and the shrimp was the next thing on my plate. Why is it the appetizer shrimp are so much better than the other shrimp that is served with your meal? The shrimp that came with my meal were not seasoned very well. I was a little disappointed with the quality (taste), but the quantity was the most of any Japanese restaurant that I've been too. Now for the final meat, the chicken. Our chef put a generous amount of teriyaki sauce on our chicken, and then he tossed our chicken around in the sauce. And then he added some more sauce, and let the chicken cook some more. It was really good. Great flavor on the chicken. Service was good, and the chef did a pretty good job with "the show". So as you can tell from this review, I have some mixed feelings about the Miyabi Kyoto in Myrtle Beach. Bad rice, flavorless shrimp with the meal, above average soup and great teriyaki chicken.

We had dinner on a Friday night in December. Living at the beach we know to make a reso. Walked right in to our table. Glad we had one because when we came out the lobby was packed with people at 8:30. Food is always good here this is the only japanese steakhouse we go to. Service this time was great even catered to our 9 year old daughter and her friend. They are running a winter special for $2 off dinners that we didn't know about until we saw the discount on our check. Presentation from the chef was just ok heard the manager "rushing" them to get the other tables sat.

Loved it! I always compare them to my favorite at home and it was even better then mine at home! The prices were right on point and food was excellent and they had amazing yum yum sauce. I will always come back.....the soup had lots of flavor, the salad was large and the food was perfectly cooked. The only slight concern was the length of time it took to cook due to the grills being smaller then mine at home so ensure you have plenty of time to sit relax and enjoy the atmosphere.
(5)Dustin B.
The food was good. The portions were too big, not many people can take down the entire meal with rice. Also everyone at our table was in love with the white sauce....don't know why but it was a big hit. Good meal and especially great the next day or next night for a little extra something. Call ahead to make reservation

Based on the reviews of the other Miyabi Kyoto locations, I decided to give this place a try. Eh, I was not impressed, especially given the rave reviews I read. But, because I still got a habachi dinner in SC, I went with 3 stars. Unlike other habachi restaurants, all of their meals come with fried rice. (Most other places charge about $2 for fried rice over white rice.) But don't be fooled, this fried rice is nowhere close to the yumminess of typical habachi fried rice. It is essentially white rice, soy sauce, and sesame seeds. Nothing else, no eggs or veggies, which really makes fried rice all that it's cracked up to be. I looked around and everyone seemed to be putting white sauce on their rice, which is a good idea and makes the rice better, but still not so good. Which brings me to their white sauce. It is good. Try it with everything. It's a mayo based sauce and it's pretty delicious. It reminds me of the japanese mayo + hot sauce blend. Not typical habachi, but does save some of the food. They also have sweet tea for the southern fix, and ranch dressing for those who don't like ginger dressing. The habachi show was mediocre, but our chef was pleasantly friendly. The decour of the restaurant is the best part, I think. 4 stars for the habachi experience, just cuz it's fun. 2 stars for the food.

Hit up the steakhouse for sushi and it delivered. We had 7 in our party and sat at a table in the sushi bar area. They have a huge selection of sushi available in a number of different combinations/bento boxes. Almost to the point that there are too many options. The menu is full of actual pictures of the sushi so you have an idea of what you are getting. I had the sushi/sashimi combo that was great. Value was there as well. Huge combo for about $20. Service was quick once we realized we didn't need to wait an hour to sit at a hibachi table (no one in our group minded and you can still order hibachi in the sushi bar area). Will eat here again.

Save your money, go to a chain restaurant where you'll get a little better food for the same price. If you want Japanese, wait til you get back home and if you live in the area then sorry if this is the best around. The food was edible but was pretty much tasteless and if they hadn't given me mustard sauce I'm not sure that I would have tasted anything at all. The chef does the same routine that every other chef behind a hibachi table does, maybe it was just our chef that night but he was only going thru the motions. Not that it really matters to me to see a show with my dinner but that kinda sums up the place. If your hungry and want to put something in your belly to digest then this is your place, the portions are huge. If you want to have a nice night out with some tasty food then skip this place.

I read a few reviews about hibachi restaurants in the area and this one had the best reviews so I decided to give it a try. When I walked in I was immediately stricken by the decor. It was beautiful. My boyfriend and I had to wait about 5 minutes to be seated but the waiting area was pretty. Our server was very professional and attentive. So why two stars? Our cook kept dropping his tools while performing his routine and he even dropped the "F" bomb once after saying the "S" word a couple times. He lost handling with one of his props and nearly took out a few of the patrons. At this point, I was afraid to have him perform any further because I felt I would be wearing my food or drinks. I was then more interested in watching the cook at the table next to us who was amazing. One of the main reasons I go to hibachi is for the show and the food. The food was good, a little disappointed with the "fried rice" as it was only rice, soy sauce, and sesame seeds... No egg or veggies. But the salad and meats were good. A tiny bit overpriced (about $25 per person). Just wished the show was a lot better to go with my initial astonishment with the restaurant.
